April 2023 saw New Brighton Pride nominated and shortlisted for the ‘ Community Event of the Year’ LCR Pride Award following New Brighton ( and the Wirral’s ) first ever Pride on August 27th, 2022.

The Awards event was held at Anfield, the home of Liverpool Football Club and was attended by over 200 people.

Although we didn’t walk away with the top award! it gave great recognition for Pride within a community that has been long overdue and to be nominated for such an award less than 6 months after the birth of New Brighton Pride gives great foundations to build our future and support within our communities.

Jamie Lee Carter, the founder, said ‘ It was exciting for our organisation and many volunteers to find out that we had been shortlisted for LCR Pride Awards and not only that, but shortlisted alongside two long established organisations ‘.
